Audi A3

With the compact crossover segments established firmly, the luxury brands are now turning their attention towards the compact sedans that will sit below their regular C-segment offerings. Audi’s contender for this upcoming war is the A3 sedan, which was previewed in concept form in 2012. The sedan will be based on the A3 hatchback which has been selling in Europe since 1996.

As the concept hints, the A3 sedan will subscribe to Audi’s current design philosophy that is seen on the new A6, A7 and A8 and will be positioned below the recently facelifted A4. The global debut of the A3 sedan is expected to happen by the second quarter of 2013 and we expect the car to make its way into India by late 2013 or early 2014. The A3 sedan will be priced in the same territory as the Q3 and will compete with the upcoming Mercedes Benz CLA compact sedan.
