The historic milestone was achieved by a third-generation silver Skoda Octavia.
Skoda has reached another milestone with the 15 millionth vehicle rolling out of the production facility at the company plant in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic, since the facility became operational in 1905. The Skoda car that carved the historic moment for the company was a third-generation silver coloured Octavia sedan. It was at the start of 2012, when Skoda produced its 14 millionth car and within a year, a new milestone has been achieved by the company. The 15 millionth Skoda Octavia sedan will be used as a VIP car at the company's Technology Center in Cesana.

In the past six years alone, one-third of Skoda’s total production (approximately five million vehicles) rolled off the assembly lines. Skoda wants to increase worldwide sales to at least 1.5 million units per year by 2018. 2012 was the company best-ever year, with 939,200 sales.
The 2013 Skoda Octavia that was recently revealed in Europe is awaiting its international debut that is slated to get underway on March 16, 2013; after which we expect the model to land on Indian shores by the end of 2013. Going by the popularity of the previous-gen Octavia in the Indian market, we reckon the 2013 model is going to create a lot of noise in the country when it arrives.
“The entire Skoda team is very proud of the million jubilee. 15 million produced cars are a symbol for the great development of the Skoda brand. We have been building vehicles for 118 years and automobiles since the year 1905. Thus we are among the automobile brands with the richest traditions in the world,” said Skoda chairman of the board, Prof. Dr. H C Winfried Vahland.
