Longer, wider and turbocharged 3 Series makes debut in Munich

BMW unwrapped its 2012 3-Series at Munich. The new car is bigger, loaded with cabin technologies and offers new engine options. Similar to the Audi A4 facelift, the 3-Series has also been designed on the lines of the bigger 5-Series. The facelift model will sport a new turbocharged 2.0 litre four cylinder engine producing 240PS and 260NM of torque. The new 3-Series will be available in four different trims – Sport Line, Luxury Line, Modern Line and M Sport Package.
The sixth-generation 3-Series is also lased with high-resolution Heads-up display, Active Blind Spot Detection System, camera monitoring for a lane departure warning system and collision warning. The company has also announced a new hybrid variant called ActiveHybrid 3, which will be ready in 2012. The BMW 3-Series will be available across Europe and US by early 2012.
We are not expecting BMW to launch the exact same variants in India, however, looking at the growing luxury car market in India, we are sure that the company will shortly upgrade the 3-Series based on the new car.
