Following its launch in New Delhi, the revised Cruze has arrived in Mumbai with prices starting from Rs 14.53 lakh.

After introducing the 2012 edition of the Chevrolet Cruze sedan in New Delhi two days back at Rs 13.85 lakh, General Motors has launched the revised version in Mumbai at a starting price of Rs 14.53 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai.)

The sedan will be available in three variants, the base LT manual is priced at Rs 14.53 lakh, the LTZ manual is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh and the LTZ automatic that will retail for Rs 16.44 lakh. (All prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai.)

Technical upgrades include a re-engineered 2.0-litre VCDi engine, which now delivers 166PS of max power that is 12PS over the current Cruze sedan. Torque output is 327Nm @2,600rpm. In absolute terms, this is about 11% improvement in power and 16% improvement in torque, but more significant fact is that the peak torque is delivered at much lower rpm of 2,000 compared to 2,600 which makes the car much easier to drive in slow traffic without much gearshifts and revving, this improves the drivability and fuel efficiency quite significantly.

New F-40 6-speed manual and auto trannies handle transmission duties. General Motors claim that the new Cruze will hit 0-100kmph under 9.0 seconds.

In terms of features, the updated Cruze gets chrome door handles, front fog lamps, push start button, keyless entry and 6-way power adjustable driver seat as standard on all the trims. The exterior and dimensions of the 2012 Chevroelt Cruze remains unchanged.

It should be noted that the Cruze sedan launched in India this week, isn't the same one that was shown at the 2012 Busan Motor Show in Korea last month. Instead of bringing the facelifted sedan that was announced for the Korean market, General Motors decided to bring in the Cruze sedan with the revised engine and some minor feature updates mentioned above into the Indian market for now.
