Vendors confirm the development of new Honda City facelift for India

2012 Honda City facelift coming soon

Back in May 2011, we were the first Indian website to tell you about the development of the 2012 Honda City facelift along with some important details. With the likes of the Volkswagen Vento and the Hyundai Fluidic Verna giving the Honda City a run for its money and pushing the 13-year old dominating-brand down to the fourth position in the market, it’s time for Honda to pull up its socks.

Though the company is denying the development of the 2012 Honda City facelift by claiming that their primary focus is on the Brio hatchback, vendors close to Honda Seil have confirmed that the facelift Honda City is indeed being developed. As we told you earlier, new headlights, LED taillights, redesigned bumpers and grille and revamped interiors are on the cards for the new Honda City facelift for 2011.

An anonymous source told Economic Times, "The car would carry new colours and design cues like new tail lamps that could get an LED treatment and internal changes in form of some modifications with instrumental panel, new interior trim and a new CD player system." Another industry official added, "Lights, which play an integral part in the styling and aesthetics of the car, and a new tail lamp with integrated LEDs are sure to be part of the new car that is slated to debut post-festive season.”

With the all new Ford Fiesta coming soon and the Skoda Rapid getting ready for debut, Honda definitely needs to breathe balloons full of fresh air into the City to keep the brand competitive. Though Honda has accepted that they need a diesel engine to counter the competition, a facelift Honda City for 2011 looks like the only stop gap arrangement until the oil burner comes along. If not the festive season, then the 2012 Auto Expo will surely see the 2012 Honda City facelift making its entry into India.

Go 4 the honda city now as the facelift is not due until 2013 with the launch of the its diesel variant until that i don't think honda will react as much...because even after so much complaints regarding ground clearance honda not bother at all....

The had to do this if they wanted to survive the Vento assault. But I am still not convinced that new taillights and bumper will do the job, even if they are LED
