2012 Mahindra Verito Facelift launched at Rs 5.27 lakh

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd have just launched the highly awaited 2012 Mahindra Verito sedan at starting price of Rs 5.27 lakh in an event that got underway this afternoon in New Delhi. The official launch comes after months of speculations and a dozen of spy shots that were snagged across the country.

Both petrol and diesel variants have been introduced with the base petrol variant starting at Rs 5.27 lakh and the base diesel variant starting at Rs 6.26 lakh. (All prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi.)

The petrol powered Verito sedan is being powered by a 1.4-litre, 4 cylinder MPFI engine that delivers 78PS of max power and 110Nm of max torque, while the diesel engine has been fitted with the 1.5-litre CRDi 4 cylinder engine that churns out 68PS of max power and 160Nm of max torque. 

Facelift wise, the new model has received major cosmetic changes on the exteriors and also on the interiors. On the outside, there is a new front fascia, new headlamps, new bumper, new grille that features chrome striping and vertical slats, fog lamps and new roof rails. On the back, there is a freshly designed tail lamp cluster and the overall design has been tweaked to make the new Verito look less boxy.The alloy wheels too, now feature a fresh design. 

On the inside, there is a lavish use of chrome that make the sedan look more upmarket than the outgoing model. There is also a new music system that takes up most of the space on the center console. 

The 2012 Mahindra Verito sedan also comes in a total of five variants just as the outgoing model, out of which two are petrol - G2 and the G4 and the remaining three variants are being powered by the diesel engine - the D2, D4 and the D6. 

There is also a new colour option called Dolphin Grey that has been added to the existing list of seven colours.
