Nissan's Ertiga competitor has arrived; offered in a total of four variants.

Nissan India has rolled out its newest MPV, the all-new 2012 Nissan Evalia in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi.)

Also known as the NV200 overseas, the Evalia is more of a utilitarian van than a typical MPV. The tall, boxy silhouette and the rear sliding doors are no match for the design seen in some of the modern MPVs like the Ertiga and the Innova.

Powering the rather uninspiring bodywork is a tuned version of the proven 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine, courtesy of the Renault-Nissan alliance. Producing about 85PS of power and 200Nm of torque, the Evalia is expected to perform just as well, if not better than the Ertiga in real world conditions.

Evalia seems more a commercial segment car, have even read review on other sites including some http://www.mycarhelpline.com - wherein they have compared Evalia with Ertiga and Innova - the car may not be well suited atleast in private cars segment
