The all-new Trax compact SUV will go on sale in early 2013 in over 140 countries across the globe.
Chevrolet has presented its all-new 2013 Chevrolet Trax SUV at the on-going 2012 Paris Motor Show. With the new baby SUV, Chevrolet has now officially entered the fast growing segment of compact SUVs. The new Trax is expected to go on sale in early 2013 and will be seen in 140 different countries. We expect the compact SUV to debut in the Indian market by the end of 2013 to compete with the Ford EcoSport.
Essentially a rebadged Opel / Vauxhall Mokka, the high-riding, five-seater is 4,248mm long, 1,776mm wide and sits on a 2,555mm wheelbase, making the baby SUV 32mm shorter and 131mm higher than the equivalent Vauxhall.

The Trax's cabin has a stylish design with a three-spoke steering wheel, metallic accents and circular air vents. The model can also be equipped with leather upholstery and the MyLink infotainment system.

Under the hood, three different engines are being offered - a 1.6-litre petrol engine producing 120PS of power and 155 Nm of torque; a turbocharged 1.4-litre petrol engine the churns out 140PS of power and 200Nm of torque and a 1.7-litre diesel with 130PS of power and 300Nm of torque. The latter two engines can be connected to a six-speed automatic transmission and an optional all-wheel drive system.

"For many decades, Chevrolet has been known for its dependable and capable SUVs. Trax will deliver on all of the traditional Chevrolet values and more. It is a modern, highly versatile yet fuel-efficient small SUV, offering car-like handling and all-wheel drive," said Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet Europe. "Trax is the modern expression of one of Chevrolet’s core competencies, which is building and selling great SUVs," Docherty added.
