2012 Renault Duster SUV brochure leaked; Specs & variants revealed

The official brochure of the Duster SUV has been floated onto the web, ahead of the SUV's launch tomorrow in Mumbai.
Tomorrow is a big day for Renault India, as they would roll out the all-new 2012 Renault Duster SUV into the Indian market. Much has been talked about the upcoming Duster SUV, since the last few weeks especially, when speculations became ripe about the SUV sporting a price tag close to Rs 7 lakh. Now however, unintentionally or otherwise the brochure of the new Duster SUV, awaiting its launch in the next 24 hours have been leaked onto the Internet, revealing all the details, specs and variants.
The 2012 Renault Duster SUV will be offered in six variants - 2 petrol and 4 diesel variants. The petrol variants (RxE and RxL) will come powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine, while the diesel variants will be fitted with a 1.5-litre dCi engine that will be tuned of offer either 85PS (RxL and RxZ) or 110PS (RxL and RxZ) of max power.
The petrol engine and 85PS diesel unit will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, while the powerful 110PS diesel unit will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Company claimed fuel efficiency is 13.24 kmpl for the petrol variants, 20.46 kmpl for the 85PS diesel engine and 19.01 kmpl for the 110PS diesel engine. The SUV boasts of a 50-litre fuel tank capacity.
The petrol engined Duster gets a full hydraulic power steering, while the more efficient electro-hydraulic power steering has been installed in the diesel powered variants of the Duster SUV.
Even before the launch of the Duster SUV or knowing its on-road price, dealers had started taking bookings for the new model and pan India bookings reportedly, has crossed over the 1,500 mark already.
The indigenous Renault Duster SUV was launched in UK just few days back at a competitive starting price of sub-Rs 8 lakh and we expect a similar price tag to accompany the 2012 Renault Duster SUV when its launched in the Indian market tomorrow.
