2013 Geneva Motor Show: Lamborghini Veneno leaked

When we spoke to Mr Andrea Baldi during the launch of the Aventador Roadster in India, the Head of Sales and Marketing for Lamborghini's Asia Pacific region had given us a hint about something special that was coming to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Well, looks like it is another one of Lamborghini's limited-run models and unsurprisingly, the car has already raised its head on the web space before its official debut at Geneva.

Called the Lamborghini Veneno (which is Spanish for Venom; but we'll tell you more about its connection to the Spanish bull-fighting scene closer to the launch), the new bull on the block looks like an intimidating hypercar from the future with its outrageous styling. There are hints of the Sesto Elemento's design theme, more so due to its colour scheme. The headlights however look like the ones on the Audi LeMans racecars. The aerodynamic fin that protrudes from the roof and bisects the rear wing looks like it came from a prototype race car too. Like the Aventador J, a thin pinstripe of the Italian tricolor runs across the length of the car. The tailgate has never-seen-before-from-Lamborghini design for the taillights - but has the familiar array of angular bodywork.

Under the opaque hood is the flagship Lamborghini 6.5-litre V12 engine. But for the Veneno, it puts out 740 PS of power and thanks to the carbonfibre monocoque chassis from the Aventador, the hypercar manages to sprint from naught to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds. The leaked info also claims a top speed of over 352 km/h! 

Lamborghini loves one-offs and limited runs and the Veneno is no different. Only three of these hypercars will be produced with a price tag of over Rs 25 crore each - and as you would expect, they are already sold out!
