The high-performance A45 AMG will go on sale in Europe in the next couple of months.
Mercedes Benz has launched the AMG-tuned high-performance version of the A-Class, the A45 AMG at the ongoing 2013 Geneva Motor Show today. Images of the production-spec A45 AMG had been officially released onto the internet just last month. Now, the car has been presented on the Geneva showroom floor.
Under the hood, the A45 AMG gets a 2-litre, 4 cylinder turbocharged engine however, in spite of its small size; the hand built four-pot motor puts out over 350PS of power and nearly 400Nm of torque. Mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox with the AMG’s 4-Matic all-wheel drive system, Mercedes says the A45 AMG is good for a 0-100kmph sprint time of just 4.6 seconds.
To significantly improve the on road manners, the A45 AMG features a far sportier suspension setup than the standard model. It also gets a speed-sensitive AMG-tuned steering for better feel and control.
