This is the production model based on the S-Cross concept displayed at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
According to the latest presser from Suzuki, what was supposed to become the next gen SX4 transformed into what we now know as the SX4 Crossover. Based on the S-Cross concept showcased at last year's Paris Motor Show, the vehicle was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and will go on sale in Europe sometime in the second half of 2013.
Since this is a crossover, it's obviously more rugged in appearance than the routine SX4. It will be made available in ten colour options. On the inside, Suzuki claims that the interiors of this car is designed for comfort on long journeys. The spec sheet suggests it's spacious and has 430 litres of luggage space. For the sunroof lovers among you, the crossover will be available with a panoramic sunroof too.
The car will be made available (in European markets) with a 1.6-litre petrol and a diesel engine of the same capacity, no other details are out yet. If you choose to get the 1.6-litre petrol engine, then you'll get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and a 6-speed manual gearbox, in case of the 1.6-litre diesel engine. A CVT 'box (with a seven speed manual mode) will also be available as an option.
This 4WD crossover will be available with an option of 16" and 17" rubber. According to the Japanese car maker, the SX4 Crossover has been designed for 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Things will become clear when proper tests are done.
