Next-gen S-Class undergoes a radical shift in both design and ergonomics.

The upcoming flagship Mercedes has been the talk of the automotive world ever since the first spy images of this ultimate luxury sedan surfaced months ago. As for the looks, the 2013 S-Class features Mercedes’ latest design language first seen in models like the CLS and the A-Class. Overall, the car seems to look much sleeker and elegant than the current S-Class.

Although it has been caught testing quite a few times globally, not many details have been released when it comes to the interior design and the list of toys on offer. Now though, the interior of the next-gen S-Class have been finally caught on camera.

From the looks of things, this new design theme seem to give the impression of being a lot more radical and revolutionary than the earlier S-Class. The car now features a full LCD display instead of conventional analogue dials and an even larger screen for the COMAND infotainment system. One of the major changes made to the COMMAND system comes in the form a revised rotary controller which now houses dedicated shortcut keys to engage specific functions of the high-tech infotainment system. These latest shots also reveal the new two-spoke steering wheel which somehow didn’t go down too well with us lot.

As is with every new S-Class that comes along, we expect Mercedes-Benz to continue with the tradition of introducing its flagship model with a number of world-first innovations. But we will have to wait until the official debut to find out exactly what the new S-Class is hiding underneath its sleek exterior.
