Land Rover has officially confirmed that the second-generation Range Rover Sport will be revealed on March 26, just ahead of its public debut at the 2013 New York Motor Show. The Range Rover Sport is a sportier, more tarmac-friendly version based on the 2013 Range Rover.
Land Rover says the all-new Range Rover Sport is the company’s fastest, most responsive and most agile vehicle to date. In the lead up to the car’s public debut, Land Rover has released a teaser image showing the car with New York’s famed skyline in the background.

Like the standard model, the 2013 Range Rover Sport is expected to go through a significant amount of weight reduction. JLR’s Premium Lightweight Architecture (on which the new Range Rover Sport is based) would help result in a weight loss of as much as 350 kilos.
Underneath, the 2013 Range Rover Sport will feature the same 260PS, 3-litre V6 diesel as the standard Range Rover. Also, there will be a 4.4-litre V8 and a supercharged 5-litre V8 petrol version for those wanting power. The 2013 Range Rover Sport will be unveiled on March 26, stay tuned for more updates on the same.
