2013 Volkswagen Touareg launched in India at Rs 58.5 lakh

Volkswagen India has just rolled out its all-new 2013 Volkswagen Touareg in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 58.5 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi.) The new model is based on an all-new platform and was first showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo earlier this year in New Delhi. The bookings for the new model have now begun across all showrooms in India and deliveries will begin by the end of September. 

Powering the next-geneartion Touareg SUV is a 3.0-litre V6 TDi diesel engine that churns out 245PS of max power and 550Nm of max torque. The engine comes mated to an 8-Speed automatic transmission and features a stop-start function that enables improved fuel efficiency.

On the outside, changes are made in the form of new front fog lamps with fixed bending lights, roof-rails, panoramic sunroof and all-time running LED lights, which overall give the new model a high quality and feel, worthy of a BMW or a Mercedes Benz. On the inside, there are refreshed interiors, new leather and wood and metal trim pieces that adorn the dashboard. The new model rides on an 18-inch 'Karakum' alloy wheels.

Safety features include Driver and Passenger side airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC),  electrically operated child-lock for rear doors and warning lights on rear doors.

The 2013 Volkswagen Touareg will be offered in a total of six  colour options - Pure White, Campanella White, Galapagos Anthracite, Night Blue Metallic, Deep Black and Cool Silver Metallic. Currently, the Volkswagen Touareg is being imported into the country via the CBU route.
