Honda India’s first ever diesel-powered offering looks good in blue!
With the latest-generation 2013 CR-V out of the way, Honda India is now working on getting the most eagerly awaited Honda ready for us lot – the Amaze. The car has been in the news for all the right reasons as not only is it the first-ever sub-4 meter sedan from Honda, the Amaze is also Honda’s first-ever diesel-powered offering for the Indian market.
Expected to the hit the showrooms by the end of April, one of the early examples of the Amaze has been spotted at an Indian dealership for the purpose of product study sessions to help the sales and service personnel understand the car better. This of course suggests that the official launch could be sooner than anticipated!
The Amaze will be offered with a range of two engines, the Brio-sourced 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. The latter, developed specifically for markets like ours, promises to offer class-leading levels of refinement and drivability. The Amaze will go up against the competition which includes the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, the upcoming sub-4 meter Mahindra Verito and the Tata Indigo CS, the car that kick started the sub-4 meter segment.
