Celebrated film-maker, Anurag Kashyap who has nine films under his belt, an unmatched reputation at Cannes, a hot Bollywood actress as his wife and a strong and rapidly increasing fan base in the country has bought a car for the first time in his life - a Mahindra XUV500. Kashayp took ownership of the brand new and hugely popular SUV in India on the eve of the release of his latest film, 'Gangs of Wasseypur' that hit the silver screen yesterday across the country.

"So, got my first vehicle that I bought myself, a Mahindra XUV, super and 100 percent Indian. Proud." Anurag Kashyap tweeted.

The film-maker his is known for making critically acclaimed movies like 'Dev D', 'Gulal' and 'Udaan' said that it took him nearly two decades to buy his own vehicle.

"It has taken me 20 years to be able to buy my first vehicle and it had to be an Indian brand." Kashyap posted.

It is indeed impressive that a man of his stature and mark in the film industry had foregone something as basic as a vehicle all these years, even while attending all those big Bollywood parties and premieres. The fact that a man, can be successful at what he is doing, without being defined by the trappings of materialism associated with success that too in the present era, is an inspiring tale for all us.

We sure hope, Kashyap enjoys zipping around the city in his XUV500 as much as we enjoy watching his dark comedies.
