Audi launches Long Wheelbase A4 for Chinese market

Audi has launched a new long wheelbase version of the popular A4 Sedan, specifically for the Chinese market. Called as the A4L, The car is longer by 6cm over the standard A4 to offer more legroom and comfort at the back for the chauffeur-driven crowd.

As a matter of fact, Chinese premium car buyers prioritise space and comfort in the back seat above all else. It also explains how long wheelbase versions have lately become the easiest of assuring sales in China. Nearly all of the premium luxury carmakers (Including Rolls Royce) are now offering LWB versions based on the existing models. 

As for the A4L, it will be made available with a choice of three petrol engines – a 160PS 1.8-litre TFSI, 210PS 2-litre TSFI and a 3-litre with over 270PS of power. The only significant changes to the cabin include a new design for the steering wheel and more legroom at the back. 

The A4L range starts at 2,72,800 Chinese Yuan (about Rs 24 lakh) and goes up to 578.100 Yuan (Rs 50.20 lakh).
