The Pink Lady variant of the GM Spark with girly graphics and accessories launched in Europe

A survey in Italy confirms that over 35 per cent of the compact car buyers in the country are women. Working on this bit of detail, General Motors has launched a new variant of their compact car, the Spark, targeting women buyers. GM’s European hatchback, the Spark, is almost the same car as the Chevrolet Beat that is sold in India, only with added features and safety.
The new edition called the Pink Lady comes exclusively in pink colour along with white ‘bubble’ stickers and body coloured mirrors and side skirts. The Spark also gets 15 inch alloy wheels in white colour. There are no technical changes in the car and the features list includes MP3 compatible music system, USB and Aux-in and steering mounted audio control. The Spark Pink Lady does not compromise on the safety bit; it gets six-airbags, ABS and electronic traction control.
The Spark Pink Lady is offered with 1.0-litre petrol and 1.0-litre Petrol-LPG hybrid version in Europe and the prices for these models are 11,690 Euros (Rs 8.2 lakh) and 13,200 Euros (Rs 9.26 lakh) respectively.
GM has not introduced a single special edition of the Beat in India since its launch in 2010. Actually, they don’t need to, as the diesel version is doing well thanks to policy makers in India. Still this can be an interesting version, thankfully - they have got the name right and it will remain gender specific, unlike the pink Estilo.
