The aging Spark will get design updates based on the electric model showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo.

The Chevrolet Spark introduced back in 2007, was (and it still is) the American carmaker’s smallest offering in the extremely competitive small car market in India. Every brand now and again is trying to outshine its rivals by introducing a slew of new models or updating the current line-up. In one of such moves, Chevy is working on an updated version of the Spark, now that it is getting way too long in the tooth to be competitive.
The updated Spark will feature styling cues first seen on the electric Spark concept revealed at the 2010 Auto Expo. The redesigned bits will include GM’s trademark honeycomb grille with a bigger Chevy bow-tie badge, redesigned front and rear bumpers, refreshed boot lid at the rear, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and a new pair of fog lamps. The interior will get some minor updates as well.

Under the hood, the Spark will be powered by the same-old 995cc, S-TEC engine that puts out 63PS of power and 90Nm of torque. Overall, the car performs well in city traffic though there are better options available for someone who does a lot of driving on the highways.
The updated Spark will be priced slightly higher over the current model and is expected to launch by the year-end.
