The car will be sold in select European markets from 2014 onwards.
Fuel resources are on their way to depletion and fuel on its way to extinction. So until we find another source of energy that we'll run our automobiles on, electric power is the only option we have. And looking at the way this technology is being utilized, we're not far from considering it as a worthy alternative to fossil fuels.

The downside with electric vehicles is that they aren't as practical as we would have liked. But if your commute consists of intra-city driving, then electric vehicles make a lot of sense. And one such car is the Chevrolet Spark EV. To be showcased at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March, this car will go on sale in a couple of European countries next year.
It sports a permanent magnet electric motor that delivers more than 130hp of power and a huge 542Nm of torque. Equipped with a 20kWh battery, which can be charged from both AC and DC sources, the Spark EV can prove to be a great city car. As for charging, using a DC source, the battery can be replenished with up to 80% of charge in just around 20 mins. Using a conventional AC source, it requires somewhere between 6 and 8 hours for a full charge. The car comes with two configurable LCD screens, which work as the instrument cluster and infotainment system display. Apple users will be happy to know that using their devices running iOS6, they'll be able to talk to the car with the help of Siri.
Chevrolet Spark EV will reach certain European markets next year. More details about the car will be available as soon as the American brand showcases the car at the Geneva Motor Show. While India isn't a great market for EV's but with Mahindra bringing the e2o, things can change soon, very soon. Chevrolet, are you listening?
