Chevrolet will launch Enjoy MPV this year

Chevrolet Enjoy made its first appearance at the 2012 Auto Expo held back in January. The eight-seater MPV has been developed in collaboration with GM’s Chinese partner, SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) and is based on SAIC’s Wuling CN-100 which is sold in China.

Present at the launch of the new Cruze in Kerala, Chevrolet’s Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, P Balendran officially confirmed that a new Multi Purpose Vehicle will be launched by the end of this year. The Multi Purpose Vehicle in question is the Enjoy, which will be manufactured at GM’s Halol facility in Gujarat. It will be powered by 1.4-litre petrol engine and a new diesel engine which is currently being developed. 

Along with the Enjoy MPV, Chevrolet also plans to add another model to its lineup this year. The car is likely to be either the Sail sedan or the hatchback which have also being designed and developed in China.  

P Balendra, confirming the news, said “Even though the market is sluggish due to high interest rates and soaring petrol prices, GM will launch a new Chevrolet during September-October, and a new multi-purpose vehicle by the end of this year”
