DC Designs mulls two new showrooms and an assembly line in Gujarat

Automobile designer, Dilip Chhabria has rounded up Ahemdabad and Surat to set up new showrooms.

India's renewed design house, DC Designs took a jump from being just a deisgn house to a production house back in January when the company unveiled India's first supercar - the DC Avanti - at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi.

 

And now renowned automobile designer, Dilip Chhabria of DC Designs is planning to establish an assembly center and two new showrooms in the state of Gujarat. DC Designs hopes to set up two new showrooms in Ahmedabad and Surat, while the new assembly units could be set up near Ahmedabad.

DC is said to infuse an investment of close to Rs 10 crore in the new assembly unit where the DC Avanti will be built and rolled off the assembly line. 

 

The DC Avanti, which is on lines with the Lamborghini Aventador and Murcielago is being currently developed in limited numbers at the company's Pune facility. The company plans to begin deliveries of the indigenous supercar by the end of 2013.

"We have 22 products and we already have six centers in India and we want to set up 16 new showrooms in near future across the country. We are going ahead with franchisee model for showroom. Ahmedabad showroom is expected to register sale of around 40 cars per month. All these showrooms will also sell India's first super car DC Avanti too," Dilip Chhabria said. He added that the assembly unit will be spread across around 60,000 square feet.
