Duster SUV launched in UK at sub-Rs 8 lakh

For the UK market, Duster will be sold as a Dacia – Renault’s budget brand in Europe.   

French carmaker Renault’s highly awaited crossover, the Duster is now officially on sale in the UK at an attractive base-spec price of £8,995 which is roughly under Rs 8 lakh in Indian rupee. The made-for-UK Duster will be sold as a Dacia, Renault’s low-cost brand for the European markets. 

 

The deliveries however, will start only by January 2013 since the crossover is made in India and will be exported to the UK market, following its official launch in the country, which is not too far off.

As for the trim levels, the Duster will be available in three different trims for the UK market – Access, Ambiance and Laureate. The 4WD versions start at £10,995 while top-of-the-line Duster with 4WD costs £14,995 (around Rs 13.3 lakh) the car comes with four airbags, leather steering, Bluetooth-ready audio system with USB connectivity and fog lights. For an additional £655 for the option pack, features like daytime running lights, chrome finished scuff plates, side sills and exhaust tip will be added to the feature list. 

 

In the UK, the Duster will be available with a 1.6-litre, 102PS, 145Nm petrol engine and a 1.5-litre dCi diesel mill that puts out 110PS of power and close to 250Nm of torque. 

 

Both these engines will also make its way into the Indian-spec Duster that will be launched in the first week of July.
