Exclusive: 2013 Audi R8 V10 Plus to launch on April 4

Back in January 2013, Audi India launched the new refreshed line up of the 2013 Audi R8 in the country, viz. the R8 V8 Coupe, the R8 V10 Coupe and the R8 V10 Spyder at the Rs 1.34 crore, Rs 1.57 crore and Rs 1.73 crore respectively (All prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi.)

The model that was found missing in the range was the Audi R V10 Plus. And now, according to our sources in the industry, Audi India is gearing up to launch the missing model on April 4, 2013 at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida. 

The Audi R8 V10 Plus, which  will sit at the top of the model range of R8s in India, adds 25PS of power and 10 Nm of torque to the regular V10 Coupe taking the figures to 555 PS and 540 Nm. Equipped with the S-Tronic, the V10 Plus sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 317 kmph. 

Besides the six-speed manual, the new seven-seater S-Tronic, which replaces the R-Tronic used previously, is also available. It is standard in all V10 models. The dual-clutch transmission features a launch control fiction that provides optimal traction when starting. Power is delivered to the road via the Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system with a rear-axle bias.

On the outside, the refreshed R8 features a new set of headlamps, which are now all-LED and also standard across the line-up. The sportscar also dons a new hexagonal grille and redesigned bumpers. The taillights too have been given a minor redesign and a revised R8 logo and new tailpipes complete the changes at the back.
