Renault’s executive sedan will be launched in the first week of September 2012, details revealed.
Renault India’s fifth and final model in the recent times, the Scala sedan, will be launched in India on September 7, 2012. The Scala is essentially a redesigned Nissan Sunny – however, the blokes at Renault’s Design Studio in Mumbai have made sure that the car looks like a product from the French carmaker with more premium touches as compared to the Nissan counterpart.

The Renault Scala is expected to be priced between Rs 7 to 10 lakh and will be available with the same engine options that the Sunny ships with – a 1.5-litre XH2 petrol and a 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine. The petrol mill puts out 99 PS of power and 134 Nm of torque and will be available with a 5-speed automatic and 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel on the other hand will be available only with a manual gearbox that helps put the 85 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque onto the road. The petrol version will be available in the base and mid-level trims viz. RxE and RxL, while the diesel version will be sold in mid-level and top-end trims – the RxL and the RxZ.
We drove both the Scala versions recently. Stay tuned to OnCars as we bring you a detailed review of the Renault Scala this week.
