Fiat 500X to arrive in India by 2013

The Italian crossover will be brought into the country via the CBU route.
Fiat had recently showed off the all-new 500X – latest in the line of the successful ‘500’ range that includes the two-door hatch, the 500C convertible, the 500 Abarth and more recently, the 500L mini MPV. The car is still in development and will be launched next year globally, including India.
According to Mr. Enrico Atanasio, head of commercial operations at Fiat India, the brand is considering to launch the 500X crossover in India. The Duster-sized 500X, like the two-door 500 hatch, will be sold as a CBU and will be priced around Rs 20-25 lakh region.
Besides the 500X, Fiat is also looking to introduce Jeep, the iconic SUV brand, under the alliance with American carmaker Chrysler.
"Lots of brands with SUV or SUV-like products are coming to India. The segment is growing. The next probable brand from Fiat-Chrysler for the Indian market is Jeep. We are also considering 500X. This is also an opportunity for the Indian market. We are considering carefully the possibilities of all the brands," Head of commercial operations, Fiat India, Mr. Enrico Atanasio said.
