First round of bookings of 2012 Mercedes Benz B-Class sold out!

Not even 4 hours have passed, since the all-new 2012 Mercedes Benz B-Class was launched in India at an event held in Mumbai. And the company has reported that all the units allocated to the Indian market in the first round of bookings have been sold out through pre-booked orders. The second round of bookings will be opened only in January 2013. Meanwhile, the 250 deliveries of the compact MPV will be completed by October 2012. 

The company has stated that 250 units of the luxury compact sports tourer were allocated for India, which have already found owners across the country. In the international market, over 75,000 units of the B-Class have been sold across the globe.

The 2012 B-Class was launched today at a starting price of Rs 21. 49 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai.) The compact sports tourer is being offered in only one engine option - 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 122PS of power and 200Nm of torque. The petrol variant is available in two trim levels - B180  that has been priced at Rs 21.49 lakh and B180 Sports that can be bought at Rs 24.87 lakh (All prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai.) 

The petrol engine comes mated to an advanced 7G DCT 7-Speed dual clutch transmission and features Gear Shift Paddles on the steering wheel and ECO START-STOP function, while returning a fuel efficiency of 14.81kmpl. The 0 to 100 mark is achieved in 10.2 seconds with a top speed of 190kmph. It should be noted that the diesel variant of the B-Class is expected to roll out in the third quarter of 2013.
