The company sold 7,235 cars in total in the wake of challenging market conditions.

Thanks to the growing demand for the Figo in overseas markets, Ford India reported a 16 per cent rise in exports last month, having shipped 2,763 units as against 2,398 units a year earlier. That sounds like good news for the Blue Oval, until you take into account that the domestic sales figure stood at 4,490 as compared to 8,035 during the same period last year.
Including the domestic sales and exports, the carmaker sold a lowly 7,253 units in February 2013 owing to difficult domestic market conditions.
“In the domestic market, we continue to witness some tough and challenging conditions. While we are generating consumer interest in our great products, policy uncertainty and resulting lowered consumer confidence is impacting our business,” said Vinay Piparsania, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India.
“We are happy that our exports are continuing to grow strongly in line with our strategy of aggressively expanding in overseas markets to position India as a regional export hub for small cars,” he added.
