The Brio automatic gets a first-in-class 5-speed gearbox specifically tuned for the 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine.
Honda has launched the automatic version of its popular hatchback, the Brio, in the Indian market today. The Honda Brio A/T will be available in two variants (mid and top), the S (O) and V. The Honda Brio S (O) AT is priced at Rs 5.74 lakh while the top-of-the-line V AT comes at Rs 5.99-lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). These prices are approximately Rs 75,000 more than their corresponding manual transmission variants. Brio has also introduced a new EX MT variant in the manual transmission line-up, details of which will be revealed soon.
The Brio automatic will compete against the likes of Hyundai i10 automatic and Maruti Suzuki A-Star automatic in the not-so-hot budget automatic small car segment.

The design of the Brio AT is exactly similar to its manual counterpart and doesn’t get any ‘AT’ badging either. Except for the new gearstick and digital readouts for the auto ‘box in the instrumentation panel, the interiors too remain the same.
The 1.2-litre petrol engine in the manual as well as automatic variants has been slightly re-tweaked for better fuel economy as compared to the Brio that was launched last year. While the Brio MT now claims over 19 kmpl, the Brio AT claims 16.5 kmpl which is very good for an automatic.
