The prototype version of the F-type will also be seen driving up a hill circuit.

Jaguar’s much-awaited all new sports car, the F-type, will be up on sale only by mid-2013 – which is still a while away. But the British marquee is already set to keep the excitement going by showing off a prototype version of the legendary E-type replacement at the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.
The prototype will not just be featured as a static display; in fact, the F-type will be driven up Goodwood’s hill circuit with Jaguar's Head of Vehicle Integrity, Mike Cross behind the wheel. The F-type slated for the special outing will be powered by a 3-litre, supercharged V6 engine putting out over 375PS of power.

Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar Cars said, “Goodwood Festival of Speed is focused around the dynamic hill runs where the public can see, hear and smell the cars – this is why we have chosen it as the place to showcase an F-Type prototype”
The production version is likely to be powered by the same engine. A bigger 5-litre V8 motor producing similar power figures albeit with more torque, could be offered as well. As with every Jaguar model, there’s even an F-type R on cards for those looking for more power and even more mental performance.
