Also on cards is the launch of the upcoming two-seater sports car, the F-Type.
British luxury marquee Jaguar has announced that the company has embarked on its most ambitious project development program in its history and has several new models lined up for launch throughout the next couple of years. With emerging markets like China and India accounting for a significant portion of the overall sales pie, Jaguar has some big plans ahead for such markets.
The carmaker has officially announced that it will launch the XJ Ultimate in India through completely built unit (CBU) route. Rohit Suri, head, premier car division at Jaguar Land Rover India, said, “We will launch the Jaguar XJ Ultimate and Jaguar F TYPE two-seater sports car in India in 2013 to give Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz a run for their money.”

Based on the long-wheelbase XJ, the Ultimate proudly carries the tag of the most luxurious model Jaguar has ever made. It comes with everything a pampered chauffeur-driven customer could wish for: individually adjustable powered seats with recline and massage function, motorized fold-down table, 20-speaker Meridian surround-sound audio system with twin headrest-mounted screens and iPads mounted below the back of both the front seats.
The XJ Ultimate gets the same engines that power the standard XJ range; a 5-litre, 510PS, supercharged V8, 3-litre V6 diesel and a 3-litre turbocharged V6 petrol. All these engines come mated to an 8-speed gearbox. The XJ Ultimate also features adjustable suspension and 20-inch wheels.
