Locally assembled M-Class to be launched in India on 10 October

After first showcasing the new model at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi, Mercedes Benz India rolled out it's 2012 ML350 in the country back in May 2012. At the time of the launch, the German automaker had stated that only 100 units will be initially brought into the country via the CBU route and those units will come with the AMG styling package. These two factors coupled with the hike in customs duty that got underway during the Union Budget in April 2012, drove the cost the SUV to Rs 66 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi.)

However, Mercedes Benz had promised that the company will start assembling the M-Class locally at their facility in Chakan, near Pune alongside the C-Class, the E-Class and the S-Class and will also roll out a cheaper variant of the M-Class in the form of ML250.

And staying true to its word, Mercedes Benz will indeed roll out the locally assembled ML250 CDI in the country on 10 October 2012. The locally assembled model of the 2012 ML250 CDI without the AMG-styling is expected to be priced below Rs 30 lakh.
