Mahindra Quanto launched in India at Rs 5.82 lakh

One of the most talked about launches this year is unarguably the mini-Xylo - the development of which came into light in early 2011. And today, Mahindra & Mahindra has officially rolled out yet another ace in its model lineup in the form of 2012 Mahindra Quanto at a starting price of Rs 5.82 lakh. (ex-showroom, Mumbai.)

The Quanto compact SUV aggressive price range has been heavily attributed to its sub-four meter length because of which the model enjoys the tax cut benefit and also due to vehicle platform sharing with its big brother, the Mahindra Xylo.

The compact SUV is being offered with a single engine option - the new 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder twin-turbocharged diesel engine that produces 100PS of power and 240Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-Speed manual transmission. The ARAI certified fuel economy figure is 17.21kmpl. 

Four trim levels are available - C2, C4, C6 and the top-end C8 that will feature ABS, 2 airbags and Reverse Park Assist. The Quanto C6 and C8 variants meanwhile, will come with a Driver Seat Height adjust and Integrated Audio System for CD, MP3, WMA and radio.

The Quanto offers seating space for five adults with two jump seats in the makeshift third row. Safety features include twin airbags, reverse assist, ABS and engine immobilizer. 

The model will be offered in a choice of six colour options - Fiery Black, Java Brown, Mist Silver, Toreador Red, Diamond White and Rocky Beige.
