XUV500 becomes the first diesel car to win the Extreme category at the Desert Storm Rally.

Mahindra and Mahindra's popular and hot-selling XUV500 secured podium finish at the recently held 2012 Desert Storm Rally. With this fest, the XUV500 has officially become India's first diesel car to secure a place among the top three lists in the Extreme category. Mahindra XUV500 apart from securing the third place in the overall ranking at the Desert Storm also set the fastest time in three special stages. 

 

The Mahindra XUV500 made its Indian motorsports debut at the recently held 2012 Desert Storm Rally that concluded on February 25 in Ahmedabad. Two of the XUV500s had entered the rally, one of which was driven by Indian ace driver, Gaurav Gill and the second XUV500 was lead by Lohith Urs of PVS Murthy who emerged victorious in the 2012 Desert Storm Rally drove the second one.
