With 49,503 vehicles sold in the first month, Mahindra starts 2013 with a bang.
Indian automobile manufacturer Mahindra has released its sales figures for January 2013. On comparison with the corresponding figures from 2012, an overall growth of 11% has been achieved (49,503 cars sold in 2013 vs 44,718 units in 2012).

While passenger vehicles (UVs and Mahindra's only sedan, Verito) made 33% more sales this year and the 4-wheeler commercial vehicles saw a growth of 5%, Mahindra lost in the 3-wheelers segment with a 5% drop in sales. Also, the massive drop of 34% in truck sales (Mahindra Navistar) made the overall growth registered in January drop to a 11%.
Mahindra has to catch up in the 3-wheeler and truck segment but apart from that, they've made a very decent start this year. With a few new products in the pipeline, the figures are bound to increase.
