The Quanto will join Mahindra’s existing lineup of export models including the Xylo, Scorpio, XUV 500 and the Genio.
After introducing the highly successful models like the Scorpio and the XUV500 in South Africa, Mahindra is all set to ship yet another model to its biggest export market. The carmaker in fact will soon launch the Quanto compact utility vehicle in the South African market, thereby expanding its utility vehicle range which includes the Xylo, the Scorpio pick-up and the Genio.
Like the one sold here in India, the Quanto-for-Africa will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. Putting out 100PS of power and 240Nm of torque, the Quanto offers just about pleasing levels of performance.
There is no official word on the pricing or the precise launch date. Nevertheless, we believe the Quanto could generate significant sales for Mahindra in the South African market, just like the rest of the company’s export lineup.
