The factory-fitted CNG kit could add about Rs 30-odd thousand to the price of the car.
The launch of the Alto 800 is getting nearer by the day and we can’t help but think of the buzz it will attract when it hits the showroom. And it seems it will be unveiled sooner than we think given that production-ready models are now doing the rounds outside the company’s premises. One of such vehicles, spotted by a TeamBHP member has revealed that the Alto 800 will also feature a factory-fitted CNG option.
From the image, any one can easily make out that a CNG tank has been fitted into the boot. The CNG label on the rear glass is also a dead giveaway. The interior of the new Alto 800 has also been revealed in all its glory and it seems that it won’t give too many worries to Hyundai’s budget hatchback, the Eon.

Although the quality appears to be improved over the standard Alto, it can be safely said that there’s still some way to go before it matches up to the class-leading standards. As for the mechanicals, this new model is based on the current Alto platform. For the new Alto 800, it has been modified to offer more space and comfort and will be housed with an updated version of the same 796cc, 3-cylinder engine from the Alto.
