The sporty looking concept could make it into produciton in the Indonesian market.
As much of a success the Ertiga is here in India, it has proved to be no less than a rage in the Indonesian market. Currently built at Maruti’s Gurgaon facility, the carmaker is looking to quickly ramp up production as CKD units of the Ertiga are exported to Indonesia where the demand is rapidly rising by the day.
In keeping with the growing popularity of its MPV, Suzuki has displayed a snazzy-looking concept of the Ertiga at the ongoing Indonesian Motor show in Jakarta. The concept sports a completely redesigned front-end with a sportier looking honeycomb grille, aggressively styled front bumper with LEDs and a bigger air dam beneath it. The headlamps however remain the same. The concept also gets chrome-finished alloy wheels that would not look out of place in an XXL-sized SUV. At the back, the sporty character is further accentuated with the addition of twin tail pipes.

The crossover concept is likely to be made available as an optional design package, probably from the dealers end. Meanwhile, the Indonesia-bound Ertiga will be also available with an automatic gearbox but unlike the design package seen on the concept, there’s a fair chance that Maruti Suzuki may offer the Ertiga automatic here in India as well.
