The A-Class based sedan could be launched in India at the 2014 Auto Expo in February.

The stunning looking Mercedes Benz CLA-Class that took its first public bow at the 2013 North American International Auto Show was pushed down the production line recently and the first example of the 'Baby CLS'  was birthed just two days back at the company's facility in Hungary.

While, the Europeans will get to see the CLA in showrooms by April 2013 and the Americans by September, the highly-aspirational Indians will have wait a tad longer. As an official word just came out suggesting a debut of the four-door coupe in 2014. Mercedes Benz India reportedly, will launch the CLA in the Indian market at the 2014 Auto Expo that is scheduled to get underway in the month of February.

Based on the latest-gen A-Class, the 4-door CLA keeps most of the distinctive design elements first seen on the Concept Style Coupe revealed at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show. The front-end of the CLA looks like an exact copy of the new A-Class while the overall profile resembles its bigger sibling, the CLS.

Essentially, an A-Class sedan, the Mercedes Benz CLA will borrow the entire engine line-up and most of the interior settings. It rides on the firm's MFA platform and will feature a MacPherson strut front suspension, while the rear will ride on a multilink independent setup.

As standard, the CLA gets a 5.8-inch display, mbrace2 connectivity system, piano black trim and silver accents. Among the optional equipment offered is a panorama sunroof, heated front seats, Harman Kardon sound system, dual zone climate control and COMAND infotainment system.
