2012 SLK350 to replace the current SLK in India, details revealed
Mercedes Benz will be launching the 3rd generation of the roadster SLK in India on August 10, 2011. First unveiled in the US earlier this year in January, the car went on sale in June in the US market.
The newest version of the compact roadster features a panorama vario-roof with MAGIC SKY CONTROL, which switches between light and dark transparency at the touch of a button. The light mode, as mentioned, is virtually transparent and has been used for the first time ever. The styling on the new SLK is inspired a lot from the SLS AMG with the design of the grill and sculpted bonnet defining the SLK's front fascia.
The 2012 SLK350 is powered by a 3.5L V6 engine producing 310PS of power, and 370Nm of torque which translates to a 0-100kmph sprint in 5.4 seconds. Featuring a Multi-spark Ignition system, the SLK boasts of great performance along with exemplary fuel efficiency of a rated 9.7 km to a litre of petrol.
With the earlier SLK priced in India at about Rs 65.3 lakh, the new SLK 350 can be expected to lie in the same price bracket.
