The high-performance A45 AMG will go on sale next month in Europe.

Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed what will be the most wallet-friendly AMG model when it goes on sale in March. Called the A45 AMG, this all-new high-performance hot hatch makes use of a puny 2-litre, 4 cylinder turbocharged engine. Puny because contrary to other AMGs on sale which are usually equipped with gigantically burly V8 or V12 engines, the A45 AMG (on paper at least) seems relatively sedate with its 4-pot motor.
However small it may be, the hand-built 2-litre engine puts out over 350PS of power and nearly 400Nm of torque. Mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox with the AMG’s 4-Matic all-wheel drive system, Mercedes says the A45 AMG is good for a 0-100kmph sprint time of just 4.6 seconds. Besides a far sportier suspension setup than the standard model, the A45 AMG also gets a speed-sensitive AMG-tuned steering for better feel and control.

To set apart it apart from the standard A Class, the A45 AMG features an aggressively-designed front bumper, AMG’s new twin slat grille, bigger wheels with low profile rubber, wing mirrors with carbon fibre effect, an integrated diffuser and chrome plated tail pipes.
The A45 AMG will go on sale next month in the European markets with prices starting from £35,000 (or Rs 30 lakh in Indian rupees).
