Mercedes baby SLS AMG sportscar coming in 2014

The Mercedes Benz SLC - a smaller version of the SLS AMG has got a green and now will go into production in 2014. The SLC is a front engine two-seater that will be aimed at everyday sportscar users, very much like the Porsche 911. This car will also be built in co-operation with their performance division AMG – and though it won’t be as maddening as the SLS AMG, it certainly won’t be a slouch by any standard.

The Mercedes SLC is expected to be powered by a 4.0-litre V8 generating around 500PS, along with a cheaper variant with a 350PS - V6 under the hood. The prices will begin around USD 1,20,000 onwards. 

The SLC looks very similar to the SLS AMG front the front, though the signature Gullwing doors will be replaced by convectional ones. Mercedes will also launch a cabriolet version with a fabric top by 2016. 

Mercedes will certainly bring this car to India, post its global launch. Though the three-pointed star has lost its position in sheer number to its arch German rivals (mainly due entry-level  products like BMW X1) , Mercedes still sells Lot more top of the line products in India, as compared to Audi and BMW.
