The new 'global four-door' model based on Mirage hatchback will be presented at the Bangkok Motor Show.

After presenting two new concept cars at the recently concluded Geneva Motor Show in the form of CA-MiEV and the GR-HEV, Mitsubishi is readying a new concept model called 'G4' that will debut at the upcoming Bangkok International Motor Show later this month.

The G4 Concept or 'global four-door' concept, which is based on the Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback will be built in Thailand along with its smaller sibling and will be sold around the world. Rumor mill is spinning that the G4 Concept is probably previewing the next-gen Lancer sedan.

The G4 concept showcases Mitsubishi’s next-generation compact sedan design language, incorporating an upright hexagonal grille, broad LED-infused headlights, a long wheelbase that claims to offer the most spacious interior in its class, and dynamic character lines that kick up towards the rear.

The Mitsubishi G4 concept benefits from a reinforced impact safety evolution (RISE) body, which uses a lot of high-tensile steel to lower the car's curb weight and make it more fuel-efficient. Under the hood will be a 1.2-litre MIVEC engine that will come matted to a continuously variable transmission.
