The new A3 is expected to debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September.

Audi is planning to build a sedan based on the A3 for a while; we did get to see a concept A3 last year at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, followed by e-Tron at the Shanghai Auto Show 2011. Audi through its Facebook page confirmed that the new A3 sedan will be launched in US by end of this year.
The new A3 sedan will be the cheapest sedan in the Audi range and is expected debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The A3 sedan is stretched A3 hatchback based on the MQB platform and will also share the same interiors and engine line-up. The car will be possibly powered by 1.8-litre TFSI petrol engine and will certainly get the 2.0-litre diesel TDI producing 140PS and 320Nm of torque.
An affordable sedan with luxury badging – and we are talking about a product that will certainly make it to India. The A3 sedan should come to India by mid-2013 and will be assembled here at their Aurangabad plant. The A3 should be priced around Rs 22 – 24 lakh, which will compete with the Mercedes CLC that will also be launched next year.
