The all-new Figo is expected to feature Ford’s acclaimed EcoBoost engine and drive train.
The Ford Figo has been around the Indian market for over a couple of years now and it is still putting up respectable sales numbers for the American carmaker. Despite the strong performance, Ford has already started working on the next generation Figo keeping it up with the extremely competitive nature of the small car market here in India.
The next generation Figo, codenamed as the B562 will be designed from ground up at Ford’s design facility in Brazil where the model will be launched, ahead of its debut in the Indian market. Here, it is likely to be built at Ford’s upcoming plant at Sanand in Gujarat by 2014.

The big news surrounding the all-new Figo is that it might feature Ford’s highly praised EcoBoost technology for the engine and drive train. The 1-litre EcoBoost petrol engine that powers the upcoming EcoSport also holds the ‘International Engine of the Year 2012’ award.
Meanwhile, Ford is also readying a face lifted version of the current generation Figo which will be launched in the next few months. The updated car is rumored to come with a couple of high-end features in the form of Start/Stop button and keyless entry to make it more desirable. The additional features will add about Rs 30,000 to the prices of high-end Titanium versions.
