Available in a total of 4 variants, the seven-seater MPV offers class-leading levels of space and practicality.
Nissan has launched its first ever utility vehicle for the Indian market, the Evalia in Mumbai. Priced at Rs 8.49 lakh for the base XE variant, the Evalia is Nissan’s answer to the Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and to some extent, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
The Evalia range includes a total of four variants - the base XE, XE Plus, XL and the top-spec XV. The equipment list is fairly impressive even in the entry-level XE variant which gets features such as power steering, power mirrors, music system with AUX input and ABS with EBD as standard. The XE plus gets driver and passenger airbags, while the XL variant adds Keyless Entry feature, AC vents at the rear and a double DIN music system. The top-spec XV is quite feature-laden with standard equipment including fog lamps, push button start and a reversing camera.

Powered by a 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine (also found in the Sunny) the Evalia puts out about 85PS of power and 200Nm of torque and offers decent performance. Nissan says that the Evalia offers up to 50 per cent better economy than its rivals and with an ARAI tested mileage of 19.3kpl; the Evalia stands amongst one of the most fuel-efficient utility vehicles on sale today.
Here’s the complete price list:
- Evalia XE - Rs 8.49 lakh
- Evalia XE Plus - Rs 8.92 lakh
- Evalia XL - Rs 9.49 lakh
- Evalia XV - Rs 9.99 lakh
(All prices Ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai)
