Official: Production version McLaren P1 to debut in Geneva

The final production version of the P1 supercar will be unveiled at the  2013 Geneva Motor Show in March.

After showcasing the concept version of the P1 at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, McLaren has now confirmed that it's new spercar will make a official debut in production-ready avatar at the upcoming 2013 Geneva Motor Show that is slated to undergo in March.

The anticipated successor to McLaren F1 supercar, the P1 features styling cues of the MP4-12C, the classic stance of the F1 and the lines, that have been derived from the aerodynamic-inspired from a Formula One car. The aerodynamically significant areas of the concept are finished in matte black while the stylized bodywork uses the trademark orange finish. The headlights mimic the McLaren logo, while the roof and bonnet scoops are a trademark McLaren F1 feature. 

 

Under the hood, we expect to see a 3.8-litre V8 engine that will be tuned to produce close to 960 PS of max power.

Rumors is, that the McLaren P1 will target the Bugatti Veyron in terms of top speed and it will be the fastest accelerating car in the world. The McLaren P1 will be positioned as the company's flagship model and will therefore, sit above the MP4-12C and the MP4-12 Spider.
