Renault may have to raise the production to keep delivery time in check.
After having to face a multitude of roadblocks and nearly six long years of waiting, Renault India seems to have finally tasted success with the Duster. The compact SUV has managed to receive over 6,000 bookings in just five days after getting launched. The initial response has been very positive and things are only going to get better as well as harder for Renault.
As is with every new car that gets sizaeble number of bookings, there’s always a challenge for the company to deliver it on time. And from what we have heard, the waiting period for the Duster is already up to two months. To bring it down, Renault will have to ramp up the production at its Chennai facility and might even have to run it to its full potential since the Duster is a global product and it will be exported overseas later in the year.

Meanwhile, according to Renault India’s MD Marc Nassif, the company is looking to sell about 30,000 cars this year; a target that appears to be doable post Duster’s success and with the upcoming Scala sedan debut in the coming months.
