The spy shots of the upcoming Nissan Sunny-based mid-size sedan have been snagged.
Back in 2011, Renault India had promised to roll out five new products into the Indian market before the end of 2012. And looks like the French automaker is going to live up to its words as the company is now gearing up to launch the fifth product - after Pulse, Koleos, Fluence and Duster SUV - the C-Segment sedan based on Nissan Sunny.
And after getting an official confirmation from Renault India that the new mid-size sedan will be known as 'Renault Scala' in the country earlier this month, today we have the first images of the upcoming model.

Now primarily, the Renault Scala is a re-badged version of the Nissan Sunny. But of course, the Scala comes with slight design changes so as to create at least some , if not much distinction from its cousin Sunny. There is a new hexagonal grille and new headlamps. The Renault badge on the Scala has moved couple of inches to the south to sits above the grille, instead of on it. At the rear, the taillights sport a new reflector design.
We expect the Scala to come powered by 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines that are currently available with the Nissan Sunny. A CVT automatic gearbox, which is currently being developed might also be offered in near future.
Stay tuned to OnCars for the extensive First Drive report of the Renault Scala.
